Our Favourite Poems From Our February Classes

Poetry

We get so many requests from our students to share the poems we use in our classes so we thought it would be a great idea to start a regular blog sharing our favourite poems from that month!

Poems are incredibly powerful, they can bring joy and feelings of love, reflections on sorrows and deep introspection. They allow us to shine a light on ourselves, and see the world from a different perspective. Wisdom can be found in just in a few short lines and your day can be made with a powerful and uplifting poem.

When we share a poem, we share it's power so we would love for you to share these poems with your friends!

1. Coming Home (From Aminta's Class)

"It's a funny thing coming home. Nothing changes. Everything looks the same, feels the same, even smells the same. You realised what's changed is you."

F. Scott Fitzgerald

2. Self Love (From Su's Valentines Day Class)

"Love makes the world look beautiful. When there is love there is beauty.

When love is drying up in you life, look for the beauty around you. That is where love can be found.

You are beautiful not because you are better than others but because there is only you who can smile like that. May you fall in love with your own unique self."

3. Let it go (From Mona's Class)

"Let go of the ways you thought life would unfold, the holding of plans or dreams or expectations - let it all go. Save your strength to swim with the tide. The choice to fight what is here before you now will only result in struggle, fear and desperate attempts to flee from the very energy you long for. Let go. Let it all go and flow with the grace that washes through your days whether you recieve it gently or with all your quills raised to defend against invaders. Take on this faith: the mind may never find the explanations that it seeks, but you will move forward nonetheless. Let go, and the wave's crest will carry you to unknown shores, beyond your wildest dreams or destinations. Let it all go and find the place of rest and peace, and certain transformation. "

Danna Faulds

4. How to Heal (From Haley's Class)

"It is time to kill the idea that we can only grow and heal when we're uncomfortable. You heal every time you have a good conversation with someone. you heal every time you laugh. You heal every time something makes you smile genuinely. You heal every time you have fun creating something - anything. You heal every time you get so absorbed in something fun that you forget your struggles for a while. There is, in fact, lots of healing and growth to be found INSIDE your comfort zone."
